How To Create a Forum with WordPress

When it comes to starting a forum online, many webmasters rely on solutions such as PHPBB or vBulletin to get the job done. There is no question that those scripts have a lot of merits. The trouble is if you have been using WordPress for a long time and don’t have any experience using those other scripts, it is going to take you a bit of time to get a handle on them (let’s not forget that some top forum management system solutions are not free anyway). Posted for WordPress is a light-weight and cool forum theme that lets you get your forum online and keep on using WordPress to run it.

Posted for WordPress can be used to run a forum. But that is not the only thing you can do with it. If you are a business owner, you can use this theme to create a support system for your products. You can even run a small community using this product. Job boards and classified sites can be handled by this theme too. Since it takes advantage of Gravity Forms, Posted is quite dynamic and easy to customize. The theme has a decent back-end, making it easy to customize its behavior. Need to add your own logo? That could be done easily too.

Posted for WordPress is awfully clean and pretty decent in performance department. It is social media ready and widgetized. You can always monetize your website with ads.

If you want to create a forum or a board system for your business but do not want to adopt a new content management system such as PHPBB, Posted for WordPress is worth checking out.

  1. I’m very interested in creating a forum for my site. It deals with health and fitness and is more my hobby/passion but has been getting a lot of good feedback from family and friends. They suggested I create a forum so people can talk about music and fitness on my site. I think I should try this out. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to use widget for my site. I’m all ears. Thanks in advance.

You have got to be more specific :) You can always use BBpress to create a simple forum or create a social network with BuddyPress.
