Those of you who have been around WordPress know that your post headers link to the URL of that specific post. That is how your visitors can reach your posts after reading excerpts of them on your home page (if you have decided to set up your website that way). Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way you could redirect your posts to another URL permanently or temporarily? That’s what “Page Links To” plugin offers.
The concept behind this plugin is simple. Once you set up a page on your site, you can define a custom URL for it. You have the option to choose 301 or 302 redirect for your website. This can be used to start redirecting links from one property to another property or create navigational links on your site.
I personally prefer sending people to the new pages without having the old page stay open. Though you have the option to open your links in a new window. Of course, another way to handle this problem is by using Redirection.
It goes without saying that Redirection is a more sophisticated plugin. But Page Links to can handle simple jobs.
