How To Add a Mac Style Share Dock To WordPress

Every WordPress site needs a decent set of social buttons. These buttons can help sites get more love and traffic from Twitter, Facebook, and other sites of that nature. Sometimes you want to go beyond regular social buttons and add something unique to your website. AddThis has a cool code snippet that allows you to add social sharing buttons in form of a Mac Dock to your website.

In order to get this solution to work on your website, you are going to need these three code snippets installed on it. If you know your CSS, HTML, or Javascript, you can modify the behavior and look and feel of your Mac OS style share dock easily.

AddThis is capable of tracking your website’s progress after you have installed these code snippets. So make sure you enter your credentials before finishing up. Don’t forget to link to your external Javascript file if you want the effects to actually go live on your site. When uploading the HTML snippet, make sure the attributes for HTML elements in the code snippet go unchanged.

AddThis does have a WordPress plugin for those of you who just want the standard social sharing buttons. But if you want to go beyond those, this Mac style social sharing dock can be quite useful for your website.
