Text shortcuts are pretty useful if you find yourself typing a certain word over and over again. They also come handy when you need certain words to be turned into links but you don’t want to have to create the link multiple times. Text Replace makes creating shortcuts super easy.
All you have to do to get started is define your short cuts in the settings page. The above screenshot shows the correct syntax. You do want to list the more specific matches earlier to avoid issues with this plugin. Text replacement can be enabled for comments as well. Case sensitive replacement is supported too.
Text Replace can handle smiley faces as well though you should disable the default handler in WordPress. The main benefit of this plugin is that you can replace your shortcuts with minimal changes in the back-end. Overall, this is one of those plugins that can make you more productive.
